What Christmas means to me ?

Twinkle twinkle little star how I wonder what you are.

Is the north star which bears light bright enough ? I implore you to follow the light no matter if its dim.

First of all, I pray you all had a very Merry Christmas. I will say Merry Christmas and not Happy Holiday for a reason. I will spell it C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S and not XMAS for the same reason.

allow me to explain myself because I have a desire to provide light in this dark world. In darkness we can not see and the bible say that if the blind lead the blind they both fall in a ditch.

Let’s face the fact,  that nobody wants to fall in anything at anytime. So, stay balanced and on your feet in an upright position.

I teach to provide a glimmer of light because I do not know it all. The light is the truth and the Bible (the word) is the truth. I am willing share the truth as it was given unto me in part.

Jesus Christ (word became flesh) is also the truth. Therefore whenever there’s a reason to celebrate Jesus Christ, I’ll say “do it”. Celebrate despite the original symbolism of the Christmas tree, Satan Claus and old St. Nicholas. It doesn’t matter when Jesus was born as much as the fact is he was born.

Be mindful of the many efforts being made in recent years to erase the significance of our calendar which delineates over 2,000 years (A.D. =Anno Domini) since our GOD had walked among us in the flesh (Emanuel) on this earth.

The enemy (they) are in the process to replace B.C. (Before Christ) and A.D. (Anno Domini) with BCE and CE. Jesus Christ was so profound that our calendar is based on his life. Anno Domini which means the year of our Lord as well as B.C. meaning before his birth. They are succeeding at changing the acronym B.C. to (B.C.E,) which means Before Common Era. This change is deliberate to remove Christ from the conversation that stimulates from students question as to who is Christ mentioned in B.C. Even though the enemy tries everything to eliminate Jesus, the truth shall prevail. (Phillipians 2:10-11) What is a common era anyway ?

There is no denying that Jesus existed by any theologian or historian. There is no mention of any crime or human right violations committed by him and yet there’s evidence that he was executed.

Remember always that Jesus is the reason for the season. Also remember that it is said “this is the season for giving.”

Did you also know that this season is the most depressing season, of them all? There are two typical reasons for depression based out of giving or lack of receiving.

Yes, depression can be the result of being unable to give to whom they had a desire to give. Believe it or not depression come from a selfish place. People are sometimes depressed because that are not in a position to impress others with gifts which would assist in boosting their egos and likability from others.

Giving is the reason for the season because Jesus gave of himself through out his life. HE ultimately and literally gave his life which was a sacrifice.

Even though, when we give of ourselves, which is by comparison no match to Jesus’ generosity., we can not out give GOD. Even if we surrender every important thing in our possession our God of mercy, grace and love trumps us all.

What are you willing to give ? Our reasons for giving are as important and the following scripture will support what you may have heard about giving.

We are to take care of one another and these verses in the book of James chapter 2 says it best :

James 2:15-16 (KJV)

15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you saying to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

This reading stipulates these are some of the works which the bible make mention. Works are faith in God. We ought to labor in love.

Acts 20:35 (KJV)

35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

God is love. Love is charity. So when you give, you by default present GOD’s image/character.

Therefore I say to you, that Christmas is an opportunity to represent Christ. An opportunity to have that discussion about him. An opportunity to give what you can, to who you can just because you can.

Luke 6:38 (KJV)
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete (you dish out) withal it shall be measured ( a known quantity) to you again.

Some believe that the bible literally say that if you give you will receive. Well, the truth is that the previous verses is where that saying comes from. Many pastors utilize the verse to encourages giving unto their churches but it is important that people understand that receiving should not be the motive for giving. Give because you can and if you were in a position of need you would want others to give to you. (Matt 7:12)

A measure is a known amount which you as a giver is well aware. You know what you can afford and you know if it’s the best you can do. When the bible say that God knows your heart it is a matter of fact that you can not fool God with appearances. (Psalm 44:21, Luke 16:15, Acts 5:8, Romans 8:27)

The matters of our heart is where we shall be judged ( a decision made about us). It is important that we know what is in our own hearts. What are your motives and true feelings about others and especially those who are less fortunate?

This is the truth which I present and may this light provide you with sight in this dark world. Someone has to see in order to lead others because of the parable stipulated by Jesus in this following verse .:

Luke 39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
So pick up the torch (light = the word of God) and work. This will illuminate you and you become a child of the light.

This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine. Christmas is about letting your light shine. May others see your light and they learn to do the same by becoming an additional glimmer. God bless.
